Grateful Wednesday: Friendship and Diversity

I was reflecting on all of my friends the other day and was thinking about how each of them are very special to me in their own unique way. I have friends who are culturally, religiously, politically and regionally diverse. I have friends of all shapes and sizes, with a variety of viewpoints and opinions. Many times we do not agree on a variety of topics and issues, but all of the time they are respectful, tolerant, compassionate, genuine and caring. I was thinking that if the majority of people in the world modeled these qualities, it would truly be a fine place to live!

I am proud of my friends for who they have become. Each day I am excited at the prospect of learning new things from them — whether it is a new recipe, tradition, or way of thinking. They have brought so much to my life and I am honored to be part of theirs.
