I did encounter a very grumpy man working the voting desk. Not sure why he was so grumpy, the place was not crowded as it was fairly early in the morning. He yelled at me for getting in the wrong line, then snatched my voter registration card out of my hand. I didn’t understand when he asked me which primary I was voting in (in Virginia you can vote in either primary regardless of what party you are registered with) and he got even more annoyed. He handed my my card back and I paused before taking it, made eye contact with him and wished him a most excellent day. I think I heard crickets. Oh well, at least I tried.

 Today I am thankful that I am an American and that I have the right to vote.
